Split the planet GJ 1214b |
little over a year ago, an important story (but that did not have the right eco), we announced a discovery made by the Very Large Telescope, astronomers have indeed found a planet similar to earth, perhaps even a near twin considerable ground compared to all other worlds so far discovered.
This planet, for now simply called GJ 1214b fact is in effect a type of planet Earth and orbiting another star to come back (if you wish to use the classification and terminology of Gene Roddenberry in Star Trek, we could call in fact a planet of class O, or habitable Earth-like M-class, but all or almost covered with oceans of water).
Astrophysicists ESO observatory in Chile which is announcing the dawn of a new era, arguing that this discovery is of vital importance for future space colonization by human, the planet belongs to a solar system quite close in astronomical terms, In fact it is only 40 light years away.

three worlds compared |
Scientists who have made the discovery in 2009, in addition to support on its surface, we could see the clouds similar to those of Venus and Titan, composed mostly of carbon dioxide, hydrogen and steam vapor. It also seems that this planet could be completely covered with oceans of water, and that its average temperature is fluctuating between 120-250 degrees C. I wonder how it is possible that a high temperature so the water continues to exist in liquid form, and even spoken of the possibility that also exists in the form of water ice, to me personally seems a blatant contradiction, even if we have evidence that there water compressed to very high temperatures in some of the planets or moons, where the atmospheric pressure and the attraction of gravity help keep the oceans as a regular water and even at much higher temperatures than boiling and evaporation.
In addition I do not understand how it could be viable if the temperature is so high, maybe the scientists wanted to launch the risky assumption? Or more likely as shown by Zecharia Sitchin have backed off because they gave hasty news that should not be given, remix the cards on the same discovery, and contradicting to create confusion and doubt? The same thing seems to have happened with an earlier discovery of the planet CoRoT-7 b the first exoplanet discovered with characteristics similar to the earth (at least officially).

comparison multiple between the Sun and stars and GJ1214b between proportions and the sweep of the planet Earth and GJ1214b |
The last thing that scientists say about GJ1214b, is that the atmosphere might not be too thick, since the life of the planet should be very long and very old so the planet (as well as its star), then another contradiction jumps to attention, in fact, say the planet has an atmosphere of old, but appears to have no less than a billion years after birth of the planet itself, but according to these statements, our Earth (Gaia), which has about 4.5 billion years or more would be a "Methuselah" so our atmosphere should be a praticamente sottilissima, proprio per questa graduale dispersione di essa, in oltre si presuppone che se la sua atmosfera ha tra il miliardo di anni e la vita media dei corpi celesti dell’universo conosciuto, ovvero quello del nostro sistema solare 4,5/5 miliardi di anni, non solo il pianeta potrebbe avere un atmosfera più spessa del nostro mondo, ma addirittura potrebbe contenere molto più ossigeno di quanto non ci dicono, ed avere un effetto serra (o lo avrebbe avuto) capace di far nascere la vita.
